I noticed 21 November 2010 that President James Barry became friends with Michael Hemingway. I figured he was about to become active in the pilot program and sure enough he and Elder Justin Failner put up their Facebook pages. A few more missionaries joined shortly after. I am sure a several more might come on board.

LDS Online Missionaries: Pennsylvania Philadelphia Mission

Since 12 September 2010 the Pennsylvania Philadelphia Mission have a few missionaries blogging on a group blog called GoodMormon America.Com.  Elder Azero, Elder Griffiths and Elder Bluth have posted so far.  Elder N. Thatcher has a solo blog In Other Words and so does Elder Steven Barnett and Elder Bergloff.The mission president has made an attempt at the blog Royal Coachman but has yet to post anything. I wonder if he is going to post to the group blog. It would be cool if he had a similarly designed blog as GoodMormon America.Com. All of the officially blogging missionaries and their president have a Facebook page as well:

Blogging For The Lord Tips for Online Missionaries

For all the missionaries that want to share their blogs. Here are a few tips:

We missionaries for the church of Jesus Christ we have a responsibility to share the restored gospel with everyone. We have a great opportunity to share it with many people on the World Wide Web. The Lord has allowed us to blog our hearts out and now is the chance! Share your testimony with investigators and members and strengthen the testimonies of others everywhere. You can blog all of those little thoughts that come to you when you are dreaming big and if you write it down when you think it is right put the scriptures in there with a link to mormon.org. You write something then highlight it then click the link botton and they have a link to whatever you link it to: online missionary chats, lds online missionary world, and even other online missionaries! Click any of the blue words on this blog to test it! Also if you have any more questions about blogging discuss it with your fellow missionaries and other members who blog. Let's get this thing started!

LDS Online Missionaries: Montana Billings Mission

The eighth mission unit the Montana Billings Mission has joined the LDS Blogging Network. Larry H. Gardner, mission president and eight of his missionaries initially joined Facebook. Now there are more than seventy missionaries online.

Elder Daffer says about his Facebook page:

Hey, just so everyone knows. The purpose for me having a Facebook is not to communicate regularly with friends and family back home. It is to give me aid as a missionary to get more involved in the community, and help me better fulfill my purpose.

A Simple Way to Do Member Missionary Work: Calling Online Member Missionaries

Doing member missionary work is as easy as putting a few buttons or icons on your personal blog and writing a Mormon.Org profile.  There are about 150 LDS Church approved online missionaries currently in seven mission units that need your help promoting their blog sites. I am calling on all members to promote these missionaries blogs, so that people interested in the church can read their messages and/or contact them.  The missionaries need members to follow their blogs and make comments.  As well as sending them a few online referrals through Facebook and/or on their blogs.  They all freely list their email addresses and you can chat in real time to the RC Mission, one of the mission units, for fifteen hours each day.  If a missionary in one of the other units is online on Facebook they also will chat with anyone that contacts them.

I will explain in technical details how simple it is to help them simply by putting a couple of buttons on your blogs and a simple way you too can do member missionary work with little effort just by writing a Mormon.Org profile.

Life is FANTASTIC as a missionary! My name is Jordon Sargent and I am currently serving a mission for Jesus Christ. I am serving in the "Montana Billings Mission" and, at this time, am assigned to spread the "good news" among the people of Billings. My purpose as a missionary is to invite others to come unto Christ by helping them receive the restored gospel. The way we go about doing this is by helping God's children develop faith in Jesus Christ and his atonement. We then help them learn and apply repentance in their lives. Faith and repentance then lead to the ordinances of baptism and receiving the Gift of the Holy Ghost. After they have grasped all these truths, we teach them the importance of living Christ like lives and enduring to the end for the rest of their lives.

I never thought that I would one day be a missionary for the church of Jesus Christ of latter-Day saints. It was something that I never planned on or had in store for myself but I am so happy that Heavenly Father had it in store for me. I instantly loved being a missionary the day I entered the MTC (missionary training center). I was nervous to be one of the Lord's missionaries because I was just young girl who I thought for sure no one would listen too. An amazing thing began to happen though, I began to understand more and more the importance of this church being that this is truly Jesus Christ's church. I began to understand how important it is that all must hear this message and that here in his church is where anyone can find the most happiness that our Father in heaven has for us. That was it, I was determined to continue on and serve the Lord and his children.

The Third Mission – Elder Andrew Howden: LDS Online Missionary

About one year ago, I was preparing to fly out to Canada in a couple of days.  I was very excited be able to continue serving my mission after I had to return home from the Ivory Coast.  I had served there for four months, and upon getting sick and not being able to determine what was wrong with me, I had to return home for several tests before I was reassigned to serve in the Canada Halifax Mission.  However, just one short week in Canada, I got sick again and had to be sent home from the mission field for a second time.  Needless to say, I was quite disparaging about my situation, and I thought that would be the end of my mission.  However, Heavenly Father had something else planned for my life.  My name is Elder Andrew Howden, and I am a 20-year old missionary that serves in the Provo MTC Referral Center mission.

About a two months ago I was driving from Eureka to Santa Rosa for a meeting. Elder Hinton and I were talking about how great it is to be a missionary! We have the amazing blessing and opportunity to teach and invite people to follow the example of Jesus Christ and be baptized by the restored priesthood authority of God.

But something crossed our mind: What about everyone else who has never received an opportunity to hear the gospel or learn how the Gospel of Jesus Christ is on the earth to bless their families for eternity. And what can we do about it?

Hi, I’m Elder Callahan.  I have been called to serve as an online missionary in the Referral Center Mission in the Provo MTC.  I am very grateful for the opportunity I have to serve.  I have always wanted to serve a mission.  I was originally "honorably excused" from serving a full-time mission.  (Click here for the whole story.)  Then, I got a call to serve in this mission I am currently in.  I love the work we do as missionaries and the wonderful opportunity we have to invite and help bring others unto Christ.

I'm Elder Spendlove, a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (the Mormons).  Right now, I'm working in Ukiah, California, teaching people about the happiness that comes from following Jesus Christ and His prophets.  I also have the opportunity to spend a little time online every day reaching out to people online through facebook and blogs.  It's a cool program because there are so many people online each day who are looking for happiness;  I have been able to talk with many people in the places where I've served (Vallejo, Fairfield, Santa Rosa, and Ukiah) about the Church, as well as friends back home, people in Mexico and other countries, and all over the Good Ol' U S of A.  I love talking to people about the Church, especially about how the teachings of Jesus Christ are relevant to us today and how following His commandments will always lead to safety.  I certainly would love to answer any questions you or your friends may have about the Mormon Church and help you come to find the beautiful light I know for myself.

Sister of Online California Santa Rosa Missionary Drums Up Traffic for LDS Online Missionary Pilot Project

Kaylie Jean Hancock shared her feelings and a letter the family received about her brother Elder Nathan Hancock's new assignment as one of the LDS Online Missionaries.  Kaylie Jean sets a good example of what people should be doing on their personal blogs which is drumming up business for the missionaries. LDS Online Missionaries: California Santa Rosa Mission

The California Santa Rosa Mission has slowly but surely been joining the official Mormon Blogging network. They joined a couple of weeks ago with the other missions but only the mission president Jon Bunker posting a Facebook page.  President Bunker is from my hometown of Las Vegas and I ran across across him as a teenager at LDS Church dances which were attended by hundreds of kids from across the Las Vegas Valley.  He was a fine young man then and a fine man now.

The RC Missionaries: Special MTC Chatting Missionaries

During the last two months I have been in contact with Gideon Burton, a professor of rhetoric and a consultant to the Referral Center Missionaries at the MTC.  I had not heard about the RC missionaries but my daughter who served a couple of years ago was aware of them having run in to them at the MTC in Provo, Utah. I knew that there were links around the Internet that said "Chat with a Mormon Missionary" but I didn't know who was actually chatting with people.
