Elder Menasco: LDS Online Missionary

Elder Menasco

About a two months ago I was driving from Eureka to Santa Rosa for a meeting. Elder Hinton and I were talking about how great it is to be a missionary! We have the amazing blessing and opportunity to teach and invite people to follow the example of Jesus Christ and be baptized by the restored priesthood authority of God.

But something crossed our mind: What about everyone else who has never received an opportunity to hear the gospel or learn how the Gospel of Jesus Christ is on the earth to bless their families for eternity. And what can we do about it?

Elder Menasco and Elder Hinton
I was afraid I could not do enough! After all, I was called as a missionary to serve in the California Santa Rosa Mission, that only covers the north coast of California! The mission has many people who live in places that are hard to reach. As a missionary I want the world to know of the blessings that are in store for you as you live the gospel.

What happened is something I would have never expected. As we arrived in Santa Rosa, we went into a meeting and were told that 18 missionaries were receiving an additional assignment. These 18 have been called to join 200 other missionaries from throughout the world and become Online Missionaries... What?

So that brings us to now. I have been teaching people online using Facebook, email and my blog for about two months now. For these two months it has been impossible to express my joy with the amazing opportunity to perhaps teach the millions on the Internet! I add my love to these words from a Book of Mormon missionary: "Now have we not reason to rejoice? Yea, I say unto you, there never were men that had so great reason to rejoice as we, since the world began; yea, and my joy is carried away, even unto boasting in my God; for he has all power, all wisdom, and all understanding; he comprehendeth all things, and he is a merciful Being, even unto salvation, to those who will repent and believe on his name.(Alma 26:35)"

In short, I am Elder Menasco serving as a full time missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Eureka, California. During my mission, I have been able to serve in Vacaville, Napa and Santa Rosa. I have been able to teach and help people here in California that I love with every fiber of my whole soul. There is nothing more satisfying than living the Gospel of Jesus Christ. By doing so, all aspects of life will be benefited. You will experience pure, eternal happiness. As an online missionary, I continue to be blessed as I  invite more people in Eureka to experience this joy and love. Not to mention, the whole world is blessed, and that is what I am here to help you.
