New Simplified Curriculum Based on Preaching by the Spirit

I found an interesting letter to the family of Elder Taylor T. Gull that explains how the new simplified curriculum is being adopted in the San Bernadino Mission and about its future implementation:
We (President and I) have been involved in training the zone and district leaders in the new Simplified curriculum for the past few months. They, the zone leaders and district leaders will be involved in teaching the same program to all other missionaries in their areas. We, along with members of the mission presidency and other senior missionaries will be attending those various meetings for the next few months.

The Connecticut Hartford Mission President and eight of his missionaries have come on board with Facebook pages. Elder Burbridge is the first missionary to add a solo blog The Gospel of Jesus Christ Online.

LDS Church Approved Blogging Missionaries: New York Rochester Mission First Pilot Program

This week I was contacted by one of officially approved blogging missionaries from the New York Rochester Mission who is involved in a pilot program for the LDS Church. Sister Michele Watts, a senior couples missionary, came across my missionary aggregator Mormon Mission World and was perplexed why there were so many missionary blogs. She told me that it was against missionary instructions for missionaries to blog and where did all these mission blogs I have come from.I informed her that missionaries do not officially blog but their parents, siblings, girl friends or boy friends post the missionary's weekly email on such blogs. She then informed me that she was one of the only officially sanctioned missionaries that were assigned on their mission to use the Internet to contact investigators through the use of either a Word Press or Blogger blog and a Facebook page.

Philippines Cebu Missionaries Share Food with Hungry Children

FAMILY!!

First of all I love you!

Today we had Zone activity it was really fun! I took pictures but I forgot to bring my cord to upload pictures again!! ;We ate and played games at family Park in our area Talamban. We are all family on the mission and have lots of laughs. We moved apartments and I am building my fan base here in Apas. My companions tell me I have fans all the mga Lalaki always yell until I say Hi to them. The people love America here so its easy to get into houses to teach. Its retaining the members that is the hard work. People here are really humble they have nothing but the clothes and food for their needs and of course huge television sets. Its really funny we go to these houses and they have these one room houses with nothing in them bamboo huts and huge TV sets. You see the important things in life its universal! They are so awesome though about listening. If we visit they turn the Television off right away and listen.

The kids are my favorite I have become best friends with many of the little kids in our area. They help me with the language or just laugh at my language its really fun actually!

Sister Reshell Lewis: My Purpose As An Online Missionary

(: SANTA ROSA ONLINE MISSIONARIES :)

I never thought I would facebook while on my mission. When I was called to be an online missionary my mouth dropped wide open, shocked, and I  thought I was dreaming for a minute. But I am so grateful that the Lord and my mission president has entrusted me with this great calling. I am enjoying it a lot.

I still have the same purpose: Invite others to come unto Christ by helping them receive the restored gospel through faith in Jesus Christ and His Atonement, repentance, baptism, receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost, and enduring to the end.

I hope some of the messages I share can help spiritually uplift you. I am open for any questions you may have. And would love for you to follow my blog, so if you could just click on the follow me link on my blog! Good Day :)

The Truth Revealed from Out of the Earth

"Now, what do we hear in the gospel which we have received? A voice of gladness! A voice of mercy from heaven; and a voice of truth out of the earth; glad tidings for the dead; a voice of gladness for the living and the dead; glad tidings of great joy. How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of those that bring glad tidings of good things, and that say unto Zion: Behold, thy God reigneth! As the dews of Carmel, so shall the knowledge of God descend upon them!" (D&C 128:19) The truth of the ever lasting gospel of Jesus Christ has been restored to the earth through a prophet named Joseph Smith. The truth that has been revealed from out of the earth is the Book of Mormon. We as missionaries and representatives of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints invite all men every where to partake of that truth. Our message is one of Peace, Hope, and Happiness. May you always search and thirst after righteousness. I challenge you to read the Book of Mormon and reflect on its message, and then find out for yourself if it is not true through asking God in prayer. I promise you that you will receive an answer that the book is true.

Baptism in Cebu

First of all I love you!

This week has been good. the mission you really are happy because you have no worries about yourself. We have all the money we need and we get to go into the houses of people all day, and on Preparation Day we get to be tourist (well kind of) and so life is good in the Philippines. I am loving the weather and the people. Coming up in March next transfer we are going to have 4 people in the apartment. Our area is so big President Hansen decided to split the area into two and there will be two companionships. I am really excited I doubt that I will transfer this next transfer I will probably be here for two more transfers if pattern follows, and I will probably lead one of the areas the next transfer. Yey... usually you lead your first area your second transfer but I had two companions so i didn't need to lead the area.

Sister Mitch Minosa got baptized this past Saturday February 12,2011 and confirmed on the Sunday after. She is really fun she is 18 years old and she always just tells me Okay ra na padayan lang (that's okay just continue) because that's my theme phrase this transfer. She has a strong testimony. She teaches her younger sister the gospel and we are teaching her little sister Mannilyn who just turned 13 yesterday and friend Nelson Mansalay. He is in his 40's still single. Nelson is doing really well. He stopped drinking and smoking, and when he was with his friends Mitch told us instead of drinking with them he read his Book of Mormon. We were so proud of him.

Sunny in Talamban

FAMILY I LOVE YOU!!

Today has been a good P-day the sun is shining and it's not toooo humid! This morning we were running late to go to the temple so we wanted to take a taxi, but taxi's never come to our house so we took a dyipney to Talamban from where our house is in Pit-os. We were trying to wave down a taxi as we rode in the dyipney. It was way funny! We then got off at Talamban and took a taxi, but when we were 20 minutes out there was a broken down taxi and our taxi driver stopped to help his friend. We wanted to help but the taxi driver knew we were in a hurry and insisted that we switch taxi's. So we took another taxi and the first driver didn't make us pay. We then got a cheap taxi ride and made it in plenty of time for our temple session.

A new calling... Online Missionary

I'm Sister Gorder serving in the Santa Rosa California Mission. I LOVE serving here in California. Its been a great experience for me so far to be serving the Lord.
Sometime in October 2010, I was serving in Vacaville, CA. I received a call from the assistant missionaries telling me that I needed to attend the leadership meeting that was coming up. I was very nervous, not knowing what to expect.
I arrived at this meeting, which was a few days later after I received the phone call. There we were told of a new thing that was happening. Not all missions are doing this, but our mission was one of the few that were chosen for this new thing.

Alex Boye

We all come from different backgrounds, different experiences, and different lives. But the Gospel of Jesus Christ is for everyone and no matter who you are, great blessings and joy will come into your life by following it. I love Alex Boye's testimony and how he came to the church. He is now one of my favorite singers.

Live-In Partners

Family!

I can't believe how fast the time is going I feel like I just got here yesterday! I'm never going to get used to the time on the mission. It seems like the time goes so fast because its go go go all the time, and I love it.

This last Saturday January 29, 2011 Sister Grace Hardy was baptized it was really awesome. She definitely was one of those people who was ready for baptism. She has one of the strongest testimonies, and she has such a good heart. She always wants to feed us and even if we wanted to we cant escape her house without her feeding us. Her baptism was small, but her sister ended up coming which was good i think for Sister Grace. On Sunday Sister Grace and Brother Hardy came late, because they were coming all the way from Sister Graces home in the Providence and so she wasn't confirmed. She was really disappointed, but we made sure she knew we would do it next Sunday.
