Life of An LDS Missionary Series

I have wanted to expand the appeal of my blog and help promote LDS missionaries who are beginning to join the Blogosphere so I have invited 200 of them to guest post on my blog.  I am featuring two exceptional young missionaries--Elder Cameron Wright and Elder Chris Spendlove a companionship serving in the California Santa Rosa Mission--as my initial columnists. They are the first presenters in the new Life of An LDS Missionary Series.

I will be featuring the other 200 LDS Online Missionaries over the next few weeks .  Ten missionaries who are currently writing posts for the coming week with more to follow in the weeks and months ahead.  Each and every one of missionaries have interesting thoughts and perspectives on what they do.  It is actually a historic undertaking they are involved in with a twist that not only do they do missionary work in conventional ways but a few hours a week they go online and engage people in discussion on religion and a variety of topics.  All have differing ideas on what their calls entail and do a variety of things suited to their talents, knowledge and interests. The purpose of this series is to help raise awareness about who they are and what they do.

Elder Wright starts off sharing his post giving his perspective on being an online missionary.  Then Elder Spendlove, a creative writer, shares an essay on Harry Potter and how it applies to Patronus. Then he tells his thoughts about being an online missionary.  Both have creative ideas about being called as some of the first LDS Online Missionaries in their part of the country.  Both young men have blogs worth reading.
I hope you will enjoy reading about them  and the other missionaries and going to their blogs and Facebook pages.  All of the 200 missionaries' blogs can be found on Official Mormon Mission World aggregator.

Earlier I wrote about the New York Rochester Mission being the first to pilot LDS missionaries officially blogging. A second wave of missionaries from six other missions the California Santa Rosa Mission, Connecticut Hartford Mission, Louisiana Baton Rouge Mission, Michigan Lansing Mission, Pennsylvania Philadelphia Mission, and a special branch of the MTC the Referral Center Mission joined the network two weeks ago.  Finally  Montana Billings Mission came on board.  By reading this series you can come to know the fine young elders, sisters, and senior couples and their thoughts on engaging in this new approach to missionary work.

If you like what you read then please feel free to promote the missionaries on your own blogs.
